Project Description

Builder’s Choice and Custom Home Awards Finalist

This home was designed with the family’s comfort and energy efficiency in mind. Careful selection of materials, with sustainability and durability as the driving force, guided our path from site selection through construction completion. An east facing, passive heating window wall, closed cell foam insulation, gasketed sills, quality triple glazed windows, and other tight construction techniques allowed us to reach energy efficiency levels 60 percent better than California’s already rigorous T24 standards. LED lighting, super efficient appliances, and a discreet 20kW solar array on the roof helped us achieve 112.5 LEED points, well more than the minimum required for Platinum certification. 20kW covers the energy usage of the home, 2 electric vehicles, and will contribute towards erasing the carbon footprint of the home’s occupants. From the very beginning our goal was to create a modern home that lives comfortably, exemplifies the cutting edge of green technology, and feels like, well… home.
