Project Description
FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
RODE is working with New York City’s Economic Development Corporation to establish plans for an iconic high-tech concrete facility. The site design incorporates different ground surfaces that reflect the operational logistics of the concrete trucks, creating impact with simple design. The facility is situated on the western edge of the Sunset Park neighborhood in Brooklyn, to the east of the Bush Terminal Piers Park along the Gowanus Expressway. Due to the facility’s close proximity to the water, the project utilizes flood protection technologies to protect it and the adjacent coastline during extreme weather events.
