Project Description

Nantong, Jiangsu, China – China Resources, one of the largest enterprises in China, creates a new iconic attraction in the city of Nantong. The 3.2 million square foot project includes a shopping center, specialized retail spaces, and twin towers (office and entertainment) designed lengthwise to meet the narrow site parameters. The design includes a large canopy unifying the smaller-scale retail components with the large shopping center, and the terraced facade decreases the scale of the center to create a pedestrian friendly avenue. To meet the client’s budgetary goals the towers’ sleek façade features a window wall system rather than a curtain wall system. Slated for a 2015 opening, the vertical character of the tower and the flowing nature of the design concept creates an iconic attraction for the city.
