Project Description

The Meadows at Lawrenceville is a non-profit t facility sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton and currently has 56 rehabilitation beds and 73 long-term care beds.

The need to expand their long-term care beds led the client to investigate and ultimately decide on the Green House concept of care. The total project consists of 12 cottages, each with ten residents. NK Architects has designed the new facility so that each individual cottage is self-contained with private residence rooms, a family-style kitchen, dining and ‘hearth’ rooms. Architecturally, the project is residential in scale and is patterned as a neighborhood with several amenities including a rain garden, walking paths and front porches.
