Project Description

We designed this home for a family who loves to entertain but also wanted to use the space for their everyday life with a toddler. An open floor plan, high ceilings, and lots of natural light give the main room a bright, airy feeling. The clean lines create a modern look they love, while throwing in splashes of color for balance and warmth. The room flows beautifully for intimate or large scale gatherings. One of the most important features of the upper living area in this residence is the open floor plan in combination with the sloped ceiling, which creates a dramatic feeling of connection among the internal program elements as well as the view to the west. This upper floor was created to take advantage of these views, preserving the more intimate connections with the private back and side yards for the playroom and sleeping quarters.
