Project Description
The “Young District” is identified as the city’s work to recover its coastline that over time shaped Buenos Aires into an introspective and fragmented conglomerate whose links to the river today are weak. This new sector of the city will be strongly linked to the nature reserve system of the metropolitan region of Buenos Aires, thus forming a heterogeneous riparian landscape, with the environmental function of recovering the natural communities that define the Pampa plain. Salguero Park is integrated as one more part of the “Young District” park system, as coastal urban landmarks that together, through different operations, sew the edges of rivers and streams in the city, democratizing river banks and strengthening connections.
