Project Description
Located just blocks away from the neighborhood core, this house enjoys a favorable exposure on a well-sized lot, sloped toward the school/pool/park spine of Magnolia.
This project relies on a number of green design features (southern exposure glazing, oriented overhangs, bioretention cells, choice of materials) to minimize life-cycle costs as well as reducing its construction impact. The lot slope has been integrated in the design (the garage roof doubles as deck at the main level) to maximize indoors-outdoors interaction. The main bulk of the house shys away from the south edge to make room for the upper deck (with view of the Sound).
