Project Description

Kozzy Alisveris Ve Kultur Merkezi is an enclosed shopping center providing its high-density residential neighborhood in Istanbul with what it once sorely lacked: a wide array of shopping, dining and entertainment options concentrated on one attractive, convenient site. It features 65 international and domestic retailers, indoor and outdoor restaurants and cafes, a 400-seat performing arts theater and an art exhibition center as well as a nine-screen cinema, a grocery store and a 260-space underground parking garage. The complex is surprisingly compact, occupying only 14,610 square meters.

5+design took advantage of Kozzy’s residential setting and connected the shopping center to the neighborhood beyond by designing a miniature village of nested forms and stairs; visitors can ascend past a series of bars and restaurants to a view overlooking the adjacent street and nearby homes. The outdoor terrace and indoor atrium provide spaces for cultural and community activities in addition to retail and restaurant offerings.
