FROM THE ARCHITECTS:
A new 2,400 s.f. single family residence for owner and restaurateurs of Chef and the Farmer in nearby Kinston, sited along a river on a cotton field. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom open plan home utilizes natural light and ventilation principles, geothermal technology, and rain screen construction with cypress siding. It also features a screened in porch and an outdoor fireplace on the deck facing the riverfront.
The structure of the home is simple and reminiscent of barn/shed construction with an interpretation that responds to the land features, the sun angles and prevailing winds.
