Project Description
This project was designed by Atelier Vianney Boutry for a Franco-Belgian couple who relocated to Los Angeles a few years ago.
The husband, a business partner in multiple multinational financial companies, always wanted to wake up with a view overlooking Los Angeles. After a few years of research, they found the perfect view from a not-so-perfect house, just one hilltop away from Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House #22 immortalized by the famous 1960s Julius Shulman picture.
The house was completely remodeled by Atelier Vianney Boutry in order to reflect the contemporary-minimalist taste of its new owners.
The key component of the house is the new Master Bedroom with a 15’x9′ frameless glass window allowing the owner to fully enjoy his view which spans from the Griffin Observatory to the Santa Monica Bay.
The owners have already re-commissioned Atelier Vianney Boutry to design a deck and an infinity pool overhanging the hill
