I would like to have a place where I can sit on the edge of the shrine on my day off.
I want a place where I can sit on the veranda of a shrine and relax.
A 40-year-old steel-framed dormitory in Kanazawa Hakkei, Yokohama, has been fully renovated
into a 17-room share house. The ground floor is a car park, the second and third floors are used for
The second and third floors are used as a parking lot and the rooftop is a wooden deck terrace
on the roof.
The house has been designed to match the greenery of the Machiya shrine next door.
We have created a share house + share office that makes the most of the fresh greenery outside.
We put a chandelier in the bathroom and made the door a lattice door.

Use 3-storey steel-frame building, share house + share office + car park
Total floor area 310m2 Site area 1206m2 Machiya shrine is located on the east side.
Finish Exterior walls spray painted (white), steel staircase and car park ceiling painted AEP (black)
Interior walls LGS + plasterboard + white cloth (Sangetsu)
Floor finishes Corridor: wood-grained long sheets (cushion floor by Tori)
