Project Description

For a decade, the Marvin Architects Challenge has celebrated exceptional design and the exceptional talent behind them. Of the hundreds of projects submitted from around the country, our panel of architects selected a winner in each of six categories, including this year’s Contemporary Best in Show. Among the selections were the sustainable, the historical, the unconventional and, most of all, the inspirational.

Winner: Best Commercial

As a gateway to the park beyond, the Frick Environmental Center embodies the surrounding nature’s rhythm and light. LEED Platinum and Living Building Challenge-certified, this Net Zero structure upholds the delicate balance of minimizing footprint with maximum effect.
