Project Description
The Flats is a 60 unit apartment building located in Puntacana, DR. The design of the building is inspired by vernacular Caribbean architecture which aims to provide passive climate control through large cantilevers, and a mixture of operable screens, cross ventilation and scattered courtyards. Driven by sustainability, the interior spaces were designed to connect indoor and outdoor living, while the materials of the building were carefully chosen to provide shelter from hurricane and extreme weather.
