Project Description

FROM THE ARCHITECTS:

Location:
Antalya EXPO 2016; It is in the area between Antalya Aksu, Aksu and Tehnelli. The exhibition area is 22 km away from Antalya – Alanya highway and 8 km far from Antalya airport. ANTALYA is one of the most important tourism centers of the Mediterranean with its historical heritage and natural beauty. It has a mean temperature of 35° in summer and sunshine 300 days of the year.

That is why; EXPO 2016 ANTALYA The "Botanical EXPO" was organized in Antalya with the theme "Flower and Child" with the slogan "A Green World for Future Generation". With this theme and motto, a masterplan was prepared on a land of 1.100.000 m² and in the prepared masterplan direction, the tower design which is compatible with the theme and the area was obtained by the national architectural project competition. The Antalya Expo Tower is positioned in relation to the main entrance of the 1,100,000 m2 expo area and the visitors meet the Expo Tower.

Concept:
In the tower design, it is aimed to create a symbolic structure which is very local, at the same time universal, which will represent Antalya city in harmony with EXPO 2016 Antalya, which is based on "Flowers and Children" The viewing terraces are designed at the highest altitudes permitted, with the specified weather limit considered. Circular plan was designed to allow 360 degree viewing of Expo Area and Antalya. The circular form is divided into 3 parts, 3 pieces are associated with Antalya's historic Three Doors.

The trip to Antalya starts from the historic Three Capitals. The expo area will start from the expo tower.

Usage Scenario:
The use of viewing terraces is designed to be compatible with different seasonal settings and weather conditions. The convex form of the structure allows the closed course to stay in the shade and cool when the sun is steep and tough. Roof light enhances the visual richness between layers as well as providing natural light entry into the deep viewing floor.

The tower has a total area of 1500 m2 from the 1st and 2nd floors as closed and semi open spaces and roof terrace which can be visited as open space.

A professional kitchen and mechanical floor was established just below the lowest closed floor (+90.40). In order to continue to be used actively during the post expo period, the kitchennette was built at +95.90 level.

Carrier system:
The structure of the tower consists of a reinforced concrete curtain, which forms the core, and steel construction, which carries the facade and the navigational floors. The reinforced concrete core is the main carrier. Within the reinforced concrete core are two fire escapes, mechanical spaces, reserve areas and shafts. On the viewing terrace floors, the reserved areas in the core are used as visitor elevator halls at +101,40 and +106,90, and wc at +95,90.

Front:
Bark of Yap; They wrap around three elevators standing 120 ° apart from each other around the circular core and expand the viewing terraces as they move towards the upper levels.

The shell, which is completely solid at 0 degrees, starts to become transparent towards the viewing floors. It reaches a level that provides optimum navigation possibilities on the navigational floors. At the same time, the form, which is made up entirely of function, exhibits an iconic stance. Aluminum panels make the shell.

Circulation:
The building circulation is provided by elevators providing uninterrupted access from +07.90 to +105.90. Three elevators for 16 persons offer panoramic navigation with transparency of the building envelope. The elevators lower the user to the top floor (+105,90degrees). The users continue to travel down the lower floors with the stairs designed for circulation between the cruise floors after the cruise line travels. The last stop of the user is +95.90. This cradle descends with the elevator and leaves the building.

The height of the wing is 100.70 meters.
