Project Description

in 2011 to European University Institute, supported by the European Commission, held in Florence the first edition of the Europe Festival to promote the 2020 agenda.
The Studio Lauria was in charge of the project to build three temporary pavilions in the Piazza della Signoria and to realize a scenic lighting of the Loggia dei Lanzi.
The main pavilion occupied an area of about 400 square meters next to Palazzo Vecchio and was commissioned by the EU Commission and the European Parliament. It was realized with a supporting steel structure and coated in colored MDF wood panels. The image of the pavilions was also characterized by the use of mirror films to symbolize the dialogue with the Renaissance architecture of the square.
