Project Description
An exciting entertainment complex is now in the heart of Ventura. “Simplistic and repurposing” best describe the theme throughout the development of this new multi-dimensional entertainment venue that includes a Bowling Alley, Live Concert Event Space, and a full-service Restaurant + Bar.
An outdoor patio lounge was added to the front of the building along the main boulevard, with patio doors that open up to create a welcoming indoor/outdoor relationship. Just inside of the patio are the main bar and the bowling lanes, offering high exposure into the space from the
sidewalk. A goal was to make the bowling lanes, which are dark and enclosed on all four sides, as open as possible not only to the rest of the entertainment space but to the sidewalk and boulevard alike.
The dynamic interior design and exterior facade captures the energy of a live music performance and a club-like experience on the lanes beneath the Lamella truss roof structure. The project focused on creating a branded space for the interior and exterior architecture and design that was consistent with the vision of the owner.
Discovery will feature 9 bowling lanes, billiards, shuffleboard, comfortable lounge seating, giant projection screens showing the important games and the best surf videos. The venues offers a brand new horse-shoe bar with reclaimed wood bar tops from salvaged lanes, a locally-sourced menu, local & regional micro-brews, a private VIP room, VIP lanes, local artwork, and 160 capacity banquet room. Discovery is also host to the largest, most fun private party and event space in Ventura County.
