Project Description
The Dong-e e-Jiao campus is a Chinese pharmaceutical factory and showroom, located near Jinan in the Shangdong province of China. The history of this medicine extends back hundreds of years, and due to its popularity with a new generation of Chinese the company is expanding both their production facilities and their facilities for visitors.
5+design worked with the client to establish the sequence of visitor experience within the campus, and was responsible for the look and character of all campus buildings, as well as the design of all areas where the public interfaces with the production process. From the initial visitor drop-off to the walkways through the factory and distribution center, to the main central green space and the free-standing museum which illustrates the products in past and present usage, the entire campus has been choreographed to let the visitor experience both the company’s long history and its progressive attitude towards the future, without impacting the technical requirements of medicine production.
