Project Description

This series of boards was developed at the invitation of Arquitectos, in conjunction with the Chicago Architecture Biennial, for their exhibit titled “Arquitectos X Perspectives (AXP)”, at the Chicago Cultural Center. They feature our built and imagined spaces, which aim to improve the social and economic health of their users. Achieving social mobility and class transcendence plays a role in how we, as a country, think about ourselves, especially here in Chicago. Hard work is often cited as the key in this narrative and where the work occurs is instrumental in moving forward. We, as architects, believe that well designed spaces provide supportive environments where stories of effort and achievement happen. A simple structure does the job but a thoughtful and beautiful setting speaks to making better opportunities.
