Project Description
The world-renowned Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation (CESI) is the largest simulation teaching facility in New England. CESI is designed to give students, clinicians, and physicians cutting-edge opportunities in advanced medical education to train and perfect their skills. It is a platform for continued certification and education on the continually evolving procedures and discoveries in the medical field, using life-sized, fully responsive and computerized high fidelity mannequins that replicate all responses of the hum an body, as well as wet labs for actual tissue training.
Tecton’s leadership in evidenced based design and full-team engagement with the hospital’s medical and technical experts generated strict project parameters and performance priorities from the earliest planning stage of the project. The project began with upgrades to aging campus infrastructure and finished with Hartford HealthCare’s signature program, which now supports CESI’s significant volume of high-tech training needs for the medical community on a national level.
The existing facility remained occupied, and necessitated extensive coordination to manage a busy urban site and active class and lecture schedules.
