Project Description
A new open kitchen in this family vacation home became the central location for all activities. A family who’s passion is cooking and enjoying good wine- where guests are part of the action- a 9′ central island becomes the work station for the chef and the “sous” chefs!- The evening activity is the cooking of the dinner- where everyone has an assignment and it is created from the freshest ingredients and usually includes fish that was caught that day.
The cabinets are a traditional farmhouse style- hand painted with carrera marble counters. Most of the cabinets are open shelving and the appliances are all below the counter height to avoid blocking any views through the house. The floors are reclaimed red and white oak. The dining area sits adjacent to the living room and the screened in porch.
