Project Description

A parametrically controlled canopy shade system and water collector intended to be used for multiple program functions. It was origionally designed as an outdoor market space for the Washington DC area and reappropriated as a resting space as part of the Seneca Lakefront redevelopment in Geneva New York. The Canopy not only provides shade and shelter, it acts as a water collector diverting rain water to the plants at its base and back to the lake. The Bubble Canopy is designed a system which can be deployed in any number of sites by adjusting each units scale and its connections to other units.
