FROM THE DESIGNERS:
“Staying relevant in the sneaker industry demands an impactful and memorable brick-and-mortar experience,” Tommy explains. A prior seismic retrofit of a sneaker shop called Bows and Arrows called for two timber columns down the middle of the shop. This, along with the main display wall’s ideal orientation to an adjacent pedestrian node, informed the layout. Tommy and his fiancé, Patty Gut of Studiotrope Design Collective, collaborated with the shop’s owner to envision, design, fabricate and build-out the shop.
