Project Description

Block 136 introduces a new, mixed-use, transit-oriented development into the already rich, urban fabric of Portland’s Pearl District. In response to the 13th Avenue Historic District to the south of the site, the low-rise is a modern interpretation of a classic industrial building and the high rise is a sleek, glassy residential tower. Conceptually, the two buildings form a contrasting, but mutual, relationship with one another on the site. At the street level, the buildings contribute to a vibrant, active pedestrian culture and add a new public courtyard.
