Project Description
Avalon Danvers is a 433 unit masterplanned residential redevelopment of a landmark state hospital campus. The renovation of the historic Kirkbride building served as the central and unifying element of the firm’s master plan, a focal point for the organization of 11 new buildings which define new landscape open spaces and reduce in scale away from the center. The striking Victorian-Gothic architecture of the Kirkbride building also provides a stylistic template for the new construction which reinterprets its architectural vocabulary in an understated contemporary form.
