Project Description
Overlooking Market Square, Houston’s first urban park, Hines’ Aris Market Square offers residents luxury and convenience with a 5-star hotel feel. The 32 story residential tower has 274 units and sits on top of an 8-story enclosed garage podium. Great care was taken with the design of the podium façade to conceal the garage and create a scale and feel at street level sympathetic to the building’s historic setting. Perched above the podium on level 9 sits an outdoor pool terrace, which offers dramatic city views.
The ground level accommodates retail space, the residential lobby and a secret garden, which can be used for outdoor dining.
The corner of Travis and Preston streets has a welcoming porch for outdoor dining, which reinforces pedestrian activity at the street level. The Bravery Chef Hall, a 9,100-s.f. street-level space, brought to life an odd-shaped extra space, formed by weird neighboring lot sizes, extending into a New Orleans-style garden courtyard. Diners can either sit around the open kitchen of their choice, or order and take their food to one of the tables arranged around the room or on the patio outside. The top of the building is illuminated at night emphasizing this new landmark building on the northern edge of downtown Houston.
