Project Description

A small addition using a palette of existing materials is constructed that implies shifted walls. The design is composed as if the walls have been shifted; exposing glass, color, and letting in light and invitation. The observer can also imagines the addition as a monolithic mass with walls un-shifted so that no glass or color is exposed. The implied un-shifted monolithic form remains sympathetic to the original home’s architectural style: a camp of architecture that investigated a windowless, monolithic aesthetic, prominent in the 1970’s.
