Project Description

A companion project to The Hampshire Companies’ 200 Milik Distribution Center to the west, 50 Bryla Street further develops many of the iconic and sustainable building features at 200 Milik and responds to the site’s unique visibility from the New Jersey Turnpike. This historically significant site, visible from and just off of exit 12 of the Turnpike, takes the former Saint-Gobain glass manufacturing plant and transforms it back into a functioning, money-generating property within Carteret. The designs’ combination of similar building elements to 200 Milik ensures its place as a sustainable, energy efficient and daylight filled industrial facility. A full-height patterned glazing system defines the project entrance and will work to be an illuminated billboard signaling the presence of Hampshire’s industrial presence within the Port industrial community. Patterned ribbed metal panels adjacent to the entry patchwork window and high patterned clerestories, reinforce the unique brand presence for Hampshire and the sustainable qualities which prospective tenants seek –daylight and energy efficiency. Further, the project cleans up a contaminated site and ensures its economic success well into the future. This building achieves a LEED Certified rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
