Project Description

2407 Vine is conceived as a delicate jewel box made with intersecting planes of fine stone, glass and beautiful clear cedar. The clients requested a home that was open, flexible, and full of light. The lot was especially tight at just 34 feet wide. Because of the tight lot most of the site and outdoor space would be taken up by the building footprint to meet the required program. The idea with this home was then to make every space multi-functional and open up and connect you to the outdoors and natural daylight. You enter the main level through floor to ceiling door and window facades. The living room has a stained concrete floor that goes continuously from the inside to a large back patio separated by a full length folding glass door. On nice days the entire wall of doors is opened up to create a continuous space between the living room and the back patio. A custom walnut table with castor wheels was fabricated for the space. On nice days they can simply role the dining room table outdoors. At the second level all the bedrooms have large framed windows and a large and private deck opens up from the master bedroom.
