A new device funded via an online campaign can help home buyers save on air conditioning bills by pre-cooling the air before it enters the AC unit.

Mistbox saves up to 30 percent on cooling costs by boosting the efficiency of AC units, the company says. The solar powered control unit sprays a fine mist to pre-cool outside air as it enters the AC unit, enabling it to cool the home more effectively while reducing energy consumption. The connected device features integrated Wi-Fi and a mobile app to manage and track usage and built-in sensors that detect the AC system operation and efficiency. The product is compatible with any size air conditioner.

The video below breaks down exactly how Mistbox works:

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign last year, the product will be available in Lowe’s stores and website this summer for $399.
