Spring is on its way—really, it is—and the ideal time to read up on the latest in residential design is before the busy season gets under way. Here’s a selection of recently released books to get you started:

In Greening Modernism: Preservation, Sustainability, and the Modern Movement (W.W. Norton & Co., $60), author and architect Carl Stein argues for the reintegration of modern architecture, architectural preservation, and sustainability as a means of overcoming the resource shortages currently facing the design and building industry.
