Federico Babina Presents 33 “Archiportraits”

Here are 33 abstract portraits of starchitects with their facial features made out of their own designs.

Architect and designer Federico Babina’s latest project is “Archiportrait”—the artistic renderings of 33 starchitects, in which their appearances are made out of their own designs. The shapes and styles of the building translate to the features of the face in his drawings.

Babina likens his abstractions relating architects’ faces and their architecture to the imagination in determining what shape a cloud resembles. “An eye, the shape of a face or a mouth can be read between the structures of a building,” Babina says in a press release. “The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even mood of the protagonist through his aesthetic.”

Babina has created a series of renderings blending architects with their works, from the “Archibet,” to 8-bit pixelated illustrations, and more.
