Engineered Wood Association Is Now ANSI Accredited

1 MIN READ

APA-The Engineered Wood Association was recently accredited as a standards developer by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), marking a milestone in APA’s efforts to advance engineered wood industry interests in the building codes and standards arena. Accredited standards developers must meet ANSI’s requirements for openness, balance, consensus, and other due-process safeguards. APA will work toward developing a performance standard for engineered wood siding based on its existing PRP-108 Performance Standards and Policies for Structural Use Panels, which will elevate the industry standard to the national level and make it eligible for braoder acceptance by the building codes. The association is also developing performance standards for fiber-reinforced structural glued laminated timber, and for engineered wood concrete forms. Visit www.apawood.org for more information.
