moody’s economist predicts end of recession in 2009

The economic recession will end sometime in 2009, according to Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody’s Economy.com, due mostly to consumers adjusting their spending, the U.S. banking system stabilizing, and the benefits of the federal stimulus package. Housing will not lead the recovery, Zandi says, but he predicts that growth will resume late in 2010 and continue through 2011. Read the BUILDER magazine article.
