Earlier this month, Washington, D.C.– and New York–based interior architecture firm OTJ Architects announced that it has joined forces with Washington, D.C.–based practice Martinez + Johnson Architecture. Though Martinez + Johnson Architecture will operate as a distinct studio within OTJ under co-founder Gary Martinez, FAIA’s continued leadership, it will now do so under the OTJ banner, and Martinez will now serve as an OTJ partner.
Going forward, the studio will continue its work on the National Center for Latino Culture and Performing Arts project in San Antonio, Texas, and the renovation of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, in Washington, D.C., with future work focused on the design of cultural and performing arts centers as well as institutional and commercial office buildings.
“We are now poised to deliver integrated commercial building and interior projects, while maintaining the studio structure and hands-on partner leadership, which have long been the hallmarks of our success,” said OTJ managing partner Lance Jaccard in a press release.
