Today, Chicago-based AEC, real estate, and design-build firm Clayco announced that it would combine its architecture brand, BatesForum, with recently acquired Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC). The resulting unified firm will operate across five offices with 240 professionals working toward Clayco’s mission of integrated design and project delivery.

“The inefficiency that remains in the traditional design-bid-build construction model needs to change,” said LJC CEO Lamar Johnson, FAIA, in a press release. “We believe we can leverage our combined firm’s proven capabilities in integrated execution to bring a similar approach to a broader range of projects and clients.”

Going forward, the practice will operate as LJC under the Clayco banner with Johnson leading the combined practice.
