A five-day tour of seminal Frank Lloyd Wright buildings along with other architectural highlights from Chicago to Madison, Wis., is offered from Aug. 16 to 20 by Wright Way Travel. This trip, hosted by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust, is geared toward architects, designers, and those with existing knowledge of architecture and Wright’s work. Several of the architect’s residential projects will be visited via private excursions with expert guides and preservationists leading the way. Some of the houses explored during this trip include Emil Bach, Robie, Balch, Jacobs I House, and Wright’s own Oak Park house and studio, as well as in-depth explorations of the Taliesin campus.
Wright’s Pettit Chapel and Usonian Temple, Daniel Burnham’s Rookery building and private library, and Chicago’s Jackson Park and Wooded Island with its restored Japanese garden are among the other interesting stops during the journey.
