The Boston Society of Architects (BSA), one of the largest chapters of the American Institute of Architects, has promoted its managing director, Eric White, to its executive director position. White has served on the BSA since 2006, and was responsible for leading the 2012 move to new the headquarters in the Atlantic Wharf complex.
“We’re delighted that Eric White has accepted this position,” said Mike Davis FAIA, 2013 BSA president, in a press release. “The board recognizes him as a force for stability as well as an agent of change.”
The BSA’s new HQ, dubbed BSA Space, was designed by Boston-based firm Höweler + Yoon Architecture, after winning a 2010 competition. The floor plan includes galleries for design-focused exhibitions and programs, which are available to the public as well as to architects. Recently, the space held an exhibition on Esto photographs.
Prior to joining BSA, White directed programs at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Mass., and last year, he was appointed by Gov. Patrick to the Massachusetts Creative Economy Council. Ann Fienman will remain managing director.
