The New York City architects I’ve talked to in the past few days seem to be recovering gradually from the aftereffects of Hurricane Sandy. Brian Marsh, AIA, of Dennis Wedlick Architects told me he was back at work in Tribeca on Monday. Matthew Berman of workshop/apd said his firm’s office on West 38th St. in Manhattan had its power back, but no phones or Internet service as of yesterday morning. “We’re making do with cellphones and hotspots,” he told me in an email. And Robert Young Architects sent out an email on Sunday thanking the maintenance crew of its building in Chelsea for getting the office up and running again.
