Richard Joseph Neutra, FAIA (April 8, 1892 – April 16, 1970)

1977 AIA GOLD MEDAL: Considered one of the most influential modernists, the Austrian-American architect practiced mainly in Southern California, creating the prototype for the area’s version of mid-century modern housing, and later taking on commercial projects when he formed a partnership with Robert E. Alexander.
