BuildingWork is a full-service architecture firm with expertise in the design of civic and community spaces, creative work places, adaptive reuse projects, and historic preservation. We work closely with our clients to create buildings that are pragmatic, elegant, responsive, and user-friendly. We are committed to the idea that architecture, design, and preservation can strengthen our communities. Our approach to the design of new buildings begins by seeking understanding of what is unique and special about the place and the people that the building will serve. Similarly, we believe that by renovating and adapting existing buildings we preserve cultural resources and work to prevent loss of place in our rapidly changing civic landscape. BuildingWork was founded by Matt Aalfs AIA in 2016. Our collaborative team of architects and designers brings enthusiasm and inspiration to our work. We are a fresh, nimble, and creative firm, with a depth of established expertise that enables us to address complex architectural challenges.
