Model of the Redskins stadium design by Bjarke Ingels Group

The CBS Television Network show 60 Minutes announced that Sunday’s episode featuring Danish architect Bjarke Ingels will unveil his design for the new stadium for the Washington, D.C., football team, the Washington Redskins. A photograph of the model was circulating online late this afternoon, and ARCHITECT contributor Amanda Kolson Hurley noted on Twitter: “Nicknames already suggested: oyster, sink, salad bowl, jellyfish, female condom.”

The press release didn’t provide many details on what was included in this design, although it did mention that the body of water running the perimeter of the stadium is “a moat for tailgating kayakers.” Watch the show preview, below.
