Poll Results: Should the White House Go Solar?

Readers think the president should set an example, but differ on the method.

EcoHome asked readers “Do you think President Obama should install a new solar energy system on the White House to emphasize his commitment to renewable energy?”The majority (74%) of respondents said yes. In the poll comments section, some voters indicated that doing so would set an example for the rest of the country to follow; however, taxpayer money should not be used. Other commenters suggested the focus instead should be on technologies such as geothermal and hydrogen fuel cells as more appropriate alternatives.
