New Funding Campaign for Fallingwater Offers Naming Opportunity for Windows

1 MIN READ

How would you like to own a piece of Fallingwater? Thanks to a new campaign for Frank Lloyd Wright’s most celebrated residential design, now you can. The Fallingwater Window Legacy Fund is looking for individuals to permanently endow the house’s laminate-glass windows—which, after 74 years, are beginning to fail and in need of replacement.

Endowment opportunities range from $500 to $10,000 and up. Donors may select the specific window, skylight, glass door, or set of windows they want to endow. In return, they will receive a commemorative piece of the old Fallingwater glass, framed with a drawing of the house, specifying which part of the house has been endowed. Those who give $1,000 or more will also be recognized on a donor wall in the Fallingwater Visitors Pavilion. Visit the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s Fallingwater website to learn more. The conservancy may also be contacted directly at (866) 564-6972 or development@paconserve.org.

Built in 1935 and open to the public since 1963, Fallingwater was added to the National Park Service’s U.S. Tentative List in January 2008, a precursor to becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966.
