Chicago Snags Lucas Museum, LACMA’s Makeover Gets a Makeover: George Lucas picked Chicago for his new museum, which may be renamed to the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The Windy City beat out San Francisco and Los Angeles. [Chicago Tribune] In California, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art released new renderings of the Peter Zumthor-designed museum. The updated design maintains the “black flower“-esque shape, but moves away from the La Brea Tar Pits and over and across Wilshire Boulevard. [The New York Times]
