Shaw Contract Group The Music Project

1 MIN READ

The Music Project from Shaw Contract Group interprets five genres of music into modular carpet tile. Designed by Brooklyn, N.Y.-based industrial designer Todd Bracher, the collection was developed by interpreting musical pieces in four genre—ambient, classical, electronica, and jazz –into data that then generated a visual pattern for each tile line. The fifth component to the collection is Silence, a solid offering. All tiles in the collection use EcoWorx backing, which contains 40 percent pre-consumer recycled content and Eco Solution Q nylon that contains 45 percent total recycled content, including 23 percent post-consumer content from Shaw’s carpet reclamation network. The Music Project products contribute to LEED points for flooring systems, recycled content, and adhesives and sealants, and the lines also are eligible for credit in innovation in design due to the collection’s Cradle to Cradle certification and NSF-140 Platinum certification. The collection will be available in August 2011.
