‘Crafting Architecture’

1 MIN READ

In this new age of pop-up stores, the newest arrives in San Francisco by way of the Museum of Craft and Design. But this one is more exhibition than store, showing Crafting Architecture: Concept, Sketch, and Model, featuring handmade and digitally fabricated architectural models and mock-ups from Bay Area firms such as Future Cities Lab, Jensen Architects, and 17 more. Surfacedesign’s cardboard-and-succulent mock-up (shown) is inspired by coastal bluffs and meant to offer its own inspiration for future highway sound walls. Expect more pop-ups—for more shopping and exhibit opps—while the museum works to find a permanent home. Through May 29. • sfmcd.org
