5×5 Participatory Provocations, an exhibition previously presented at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Omi International Arts Center, is now reinstalled at the Center for Architecture in New York. The exhibition showcases 25 architectural models designed by progressive firms that, according to the center’s press release, address five arising issues within the industry: “contemplating the future of drone deliveries, the consequences of the construction of extreme luxury high-rises as financial investments, luxury tourism on the moon, the fictional development of NSA community branches, and the potential construction of an anti-immigration wall on the border between the U.S. and Mexico.”

Curated by Kevin Erickson, an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Illinois School of Architecture, Julia van den Hout, co-founder of quarterly architectural magazine Clog, and Kyle May, principal at KM,A, and editor-in-chief of Clog, the exhibition began July 11 and runs through Oct. 31. A discussion will take place on Sep. 28 at the center, in which a number of participating firms will discuss their projects. Read more here.
