Catering to young children of architects and their parents alike, book publisher and author Julie Merberg teamed up with French illustrator Aki to produce an architecture-themed ABC book, Baby’s First Eames (Downtown Bookworks, 2018). Playful illustrations of modern designs celebrate iconic chairs such as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona (for M) and Eero Saarinen’s Tulip (for T), Jørn Utzon’s Sydney Opera House (for U), and dozens more. Each spread is accompanied by a cat, looking unimpressed. Don’t be surprised when baby’s first word is Marimekko (also for M). Baby’s First Eames will be released on May 8.
