The work of architects often extends beyond the building client-practice relationship into producing much smaller-scale works of art, from chairs to dollhouses to shoes. For a show in Chicago at the Bridgeport Art Center, co-curators Stephen Wierzbowski, AIA, and Edward Keegan, AIA (an ARCHITECT contributor), with Lelde Kalmite gathered more than 100 examples of these non-building spurts of creativity from 33 local architects and designers. The show, up through March 2, features work by Aric Lasher, FAIA, of HBRA Architects; Ross Wimer, FAIA, of AECOM; Paola Aguirre of Borderless; Philip Enquist of Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill; and Mimi McKay of McKay Landscape Architects.
