Esto Gallery: Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects

Architect and educator Charles Gwathmey died on Aug 3, 2009, (read ARCHITECT’s obituary here). After founding his firm with partner Robert Siegel in 1968, Gwathmey worked on a plethora of projects across all market sectors, and balanced his responsibilities with teaching at Pratt, Princeton, Columbia, Yale, and Harvard, among other universities. As the architectural community mourns this stalwart of Modernism, it is easy to track Gwathmey’s influence on the profession. Here is a limited retrospective of his work, as captured by Esto photographers through the years.
